Condamnation de Soro : Un avocat français menace les juges
La justice ivoirienne a condamné Guillaume Soro à 20 ans de prison ferme, 4,5 milliards d’amende et 5 ans de privation de ses droits civiques. Le verdict est tombé le mardi 28 avril 2020 au terme d’un procès qui s’est tenu au tribunal d’Abidjan-Plateau. Cette décision judiciaire a fait réagir Robin Binsard, avocat au barreau de Paris.

Jugé pour détournement de deniers publics et recel, Guillaume Soro a finalement été condamné par le tribunal correctionnel le mardi 28 avril 2020. Le procès de l’ex-président de l’Assemblée nationale avait pourtant été annulé par des rumeurs. Le patron des soroistes, candidat déclaré à la présidentielle du 31 octobre 2020, a écopé de 20 ans de prison, 4,5 milliards d’amende et 5 ans de privation de ses droits civiques. Dès l’annonce du verdict, Robin Binsard, avocat au barreau de Paris, et membre du Conseil de Guillaume Soro, a dénoncé la décision judiciaire. “Les juges qui ont apporté leurs concours à ce coup d’état judiciaire en seront comptables, et devront répondre de leurs actes, notamment devant les juridictions internationales”, a commenté le spécialiste français en droit pénal des affaires sur son compte Twitter.
Il faut noter que le Conseil de l’ancien chef rebelle avait prévenu que “la tenue d’un procès, au mépris des droits de la défense et de l’autorité de la décision de la CADHP, consacrerait la fin de l’Etat de droit en Côte d’Ivoire. Les engagements internationaux et panafricains s’imposent aux juges nationaux”.
Guillaume Soro s’est tout de suite prononcé après sa condamnation. Le président de Générations et peuples solidaires (GPS) a qualifié le verdict de non-événement, soutenant qu’il maintient sa candidature à la présidentielle. “C’est une sentence qui ne nous émeut absolument pas. La parodie de procès à laquelle nous avons assisté ce jour est la preuve ultime que l’Etat de droit est définitivement enterré par Alassane Ouattara”, a-t-il déclaré sur Facebook.
