En exhumant ce catéchisme dont le caractère nauséabond n’est plus à démontrer, ils espèrent secrètement nous faire détester le premier président du Zimbabwe mais c’est peine perdue car, pour nous, Mugabe, après avoir combattu la colonisation et refusé de s’aplatir devant la néocolonisation, rejoint, dans le Temple des grands hommes africains, les Kwame Nkrumah, Gamal Abdel Nasser, Patrice Lumumba, Ahmed Sékou Touré, Ruben Um Nyobè, Ernest Ouandié, Osende Afana, Modibo Keïta, Sylvanus Olympio, Amilcar Cabral, Julius Nyerere, Samora Machel, Agostino Neto, Thomas Sankara, Mongo Beti et autres.
Ces médiamensonges (terme créé par le journaliste belge Michel Collon), prompts à traiter Mugabe de dictateur, restent curieusement silencieux sur l’état d’urgence décrété par Ian Smith au moment de la “ déclaration unilatérale d’indépendance ” de la colonie britannique, sur les dix années que le leader de la lutte anticolinialiste passa injustement en prison (1964-1974), sur l’embargo imposé durant des années par l’Occident à son pays, sur le non-respect des engagements pris par les conservateurs britanniques (financer le programme de redistribution des terres) lors des négociations de Lancaster House (10 septembre-17 décembre 1979).
C’est le refus de Tony Blair en 1997 de tenir cette promesse qui braqua Robert Mugabe et le poussa à arracher les terres à 4.000 fermiers blancs parce qu’il ressentit ce refus comme un affront personnel.
Qu’il ne fût pas saint, celui qui fut baptisé dans l’Église catholique ne le savait que trop. Qu’il commît des erreurs pendant sa carrière politique, Mugabe fut le premier à le reconnaître et à battre sa coulpe. Par exemple, il était peu fier d’avoir écarté son ancien allié, Joshua N’Komo, d’ethnie Ndebele avant son arrivée au pouvoir. Il regretta que son armée ait perpétré, entre 1983 et 1985, des massacres dans le Matabeleland qui a pour capitale Bulawayo.
Son armée, appelée “La cinquième brigade”, était alors entraînée par les Nord-Coréens. Sans doute a-t-il déploré, dans ses derniers moments, le fait de n’avoir pas doté le Zimbabwe de grands hôpitaux comme Fidel Castro le fit à Cuba car il n’est jamais glorieux, après avoir dirigé un pays pendant près de 4 décennies, de se soigner et de mourir à Singapour.
Ce Shona qui n’avait pas sa langue dans sa poche, cet intrépide guerrier, ce défenseur des petits pays, cet homme chez qui érudition et culture politique faisaient bon ménage, les médias sycophantes ne réussiront pas à tuer en nous le profond amour et l’immense respect que nous avons pour lui car nous savons désormais que l’Occident combat les Africains libres et soucieux du bien de l’Afrique tout en encensant les Nègres de maison, c’est-à-dire les larbins, les complexés et les faibles d’esprit.
La disparition du père de la nation zimbabwéenne devrait être l’occasion pour les fils et filles de ce continent d’intégrer une fois pour toutes l’idée suivante : les ennemis des Occidentaux doivent devenir nos amis et leurs amis, nos ennemis.
Pour nous, Mugabe n’est pas un dictateur mais un héros. Nous sommes fiers de lui. Nous le considérons et le célébrons comme une grande figure de la lutte pour la libération de l’Afrique.
